1985 Ferrari 308 GTBi

£79,950

Ferrari’s 308 series was updated in 1982 with a 32-valve cylinder head design which greatly improved the power, responsiveness, and efficiency of the model’s transverse 2.9-liter V-8 engine. Aptly named the 308 “Quattrovalvole,” this new model was offered in targa (GTS) and berlinetta (GTB) varieties through the end of the 1985 model year. Additional revisions over the earlier model included a deeper front fascia, power mirrors, optional rear airfoil, and Speedline wheels. In total, the Quattrovalvole’s four-year availability saw just 748 GTB examples produced. Indeed, the 308 GTB Quattrovalvole is among the rarest sub-models within the storied 308 range, and examples from the final year of production are often considered those most desired by collectors.

This late-model example was supplied new in March 1985 to a Richard Wozniak of Aldershot, via agent Mark Konig of Maranello Sales, Egham. Rumoured to be of just 11 UK-supplied ’85 ‘QV’ models optioned with air conditioning, the car has covered just 50,422 miles and has five previous keepers. Entering its current ownership some 26 years ago, the car has lived inside a heated garage throughout this period, amassing just 10k miles over the past two decades. Correct and highly-original, the car (satisfyingly) has never been restored, and is definitely one of the most honest and well-maintained Ferraris we have encountered. The paintwork is excellent and looks to be largely all original, save for the grills, rear slam panel and front valance. The seats are original, but benefit from being re-‘conollised’ around 2003. A smaller diameter Momo steering wheel is currently fitted, however the original steering wheel is included. A set of period ‘Greypaul’ dealer plates are also included and could be refitted at the discretion of the new owner. The car has been serviced by Zul Racing of Derby (F1 mechanic) for both of the last two owners. Recent works include (June 2018) – full service inc belts, crank front oil seal, replace O-rings in aircon pump, strip and replace both door locks (sticking). (April 2025) – Brake service inc rotors and seals, cam belts, aux belts, water pump, aircon re-gas.

Ready to use and enjoy, the car is supplied with two sets of keys, original book pack with handbook / service book (part stamped) / warranty card, tool roll, car cover as well a small selection of Ferrari reference books and memorabilia. A healthy file of paperwork accompanies the car, including MOT certificates and tax discs going back through the decades, as well as lots of sundry bills for parts and maintenance. A Tracker and immobiliser is also fitted for complete peace of mind.
