Ron Tauranac designed the Lynx FJ and hence it is a very well thought-out and competitive FJ. Only 7 Mk 3 Lynx FJ’s were made in period and sister cars have taken overall honours at the Goodwood Revival and been Lurani Class Champions.
This immaculate example has a unique specification. It is fitted with a Ford engine and four speed Hewland gearbox, disc brakes front and drums rear. The specification enables it to run in the E2 Class. Given it is a very competitive car (for example a class winner and class lap record holder at Oulton Park) it has the potential to win the Lurani and Silverline Championships outright, as well as being a very strong contender for class honours.
Being the last of only seven built it is quite a rare car and hence attracts interest for prestigious events such as the Goodwood Revival. It is a well-known and ultra-reliable contender which competed in most rounds of the last World Tour. Everything is in date including a current HTP, which expires at the end of 2027. It is ready to race, with tyres that have only done three meetings.
The Lynx is very well sorted and drives and handles well. It has a newly fitted and painted lightweight body so will probably need ballast to bring it up to the weight limit, enabling this to be positioned to maximise handling.
Offered complete with an excellent spares package including a spare nose and undertray (painted and in very good condition), complete new set of suspension arms and wishbones, spare master cylinders, brake linings, and an assortment of running spares. A rebuilt spare engine is available by separate negotiation.
An extremely attractive and competitive Junior.
