1965 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce

£69,950

This very rare 101 Spider Veloce was originally delivered to Germany fitted with the very desirable 1600 engine from factory. Converted to a race car in the 1990s the Alfa has had a successful and well-documented competition career ever since and has also recently benefited from an extensive nut and bolt professional rebuild.

Converted to a race car by Dr R Schimmer of Dusseldorf and subsequently competed in races throughout Europe including Spa, Zolder, Zandvoort, Brno, Hockenheim and the Nordschleife where it took 9th overall out of 185 entrants in the Eifelklassik. The car was also taken to a win at Monza in the 2010 Coppa Intereuropa, starting from the very back of the grid.

Purchased by the current owner in 2021 and fully rebuilt including upgrades to the rear axle, carburettors, gearbox and wiring. The Alfa was built to be 100% reliable and it has never broken down in over 16 hours of racing since the rebuild. During this time it has been thoroughly maintained by Alficina who would be happy to offer race support going forward.

The Alfa has proven to be very competitive, with the following results:

2022
Equipe GTS – Silverstone – P1 class
CSSC Classic K – Silverstone – P2 class
HRDC – Silverstone – P3 Monza class

2023
Donington Historic HRDC – P2 class
Equipe GTS – Brands GP – P5 class
HSCC Road Sports – Donington – P1 class
Alfa Revival Cup – Monza – P1 GTS class
Equipe GTS – Zandvoort – P1 1600 class (Saturday) (with Roberto Giordanelli)
Equipe GTS – Zandvoort – P1 1600 class (Sunday)
HRDC – Brands Hatch – P2 Monza class (Grant Williams)

The Alfa is extremely well presented throughout and thoroughly enjoyable to drive. It gets a huge amount of attention everywhere it races. Also its rarity helps with invites to the best events. The freshly renewed HTP is valid until 2033 and the car is offered with a paid entry to the HRDC Silverstone race in October.
